Local SEO / SERP Simulation / 80+ Countries
SERP Checker
Simulate Google results from any location
View localized Google search results as if you were in any city in the world, with your preferred language and country. Works without VPNs, without extensions, and without external tools. Ideal for local SEO, internationalization, and geographic competitor analysis.
๐ Google SERP Checker
โ How it works: 5 steps
From country selection to viewing localized results. Follow these steps to accurately simulate SERPs from any location.
01
Select language and country
Choose your desired combination from the dropdown menu: over 80 country-language options available, from Italy to Japan, from the US to Australia.
Examples: Italy โ Italian, Germany โ German, United States โ English
02
Enter a specific location
Type an address, city, or specific landmark. The more precise the data, the more accurate the localization will be in Google results.
Examples: “Colosseum, Rome”, “Times Square, New York”, “Shibuya, Tokyo”
03
Click “Geocode”
The system converts the text into exact geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). The field will update with the official name recognized by geocoding.
Important: without geocoding, Google will use your actual location
04
Enter your query
Type what you want to search for. For effective localized results, use location-specific queries: local businesses, services, points of interest.
05
Search on Google
A new tab will open with localized results. Check at the bottom of the page for “Results for [location]” or the geographic coordinates.
๐ฏ 3 Main use cases
The SERP Checker is a versatile tool for SEO professionals, agencies, and marketers. Here are the most important applications in daily work.
๐
Local SEO
Verify how a local business appears in a specific city or neighborhood. Check Local Pack positioning, Google Business Profile presence, and visibility in geo-localized searches. Essential for optimizing multi-location strategies and GMB campaigns.
Example: “pizza place” from Brooklyn vs Manhattan in New York
๐
Internationalization
Test results in different languages and countries to verify that your hreflang strategy is working correctly. Check if localized versions of your site appear in target markets and analyze ranking differences between regions.
Example: same query from London, Berlin, and Madrid
๐ต๏ธ
Geographic competitor analysis
Discover what a user sees in another country. Analyze local competitors in target markets, identify geographic ranking gaps, and discover international expansion opportunities by analyzing SERPs in emerging markets.
Example: e-commerce competitors from London vs Paris
๐ How to verify localization is working
After performing a search, here are two quick methods to confirm that Google is actually using the simulated location.
๐บ๏ธ
“Where am I” test
Search for where am i in English or dove sono in Italian. Google will show a map with your simulated location, confirming that geocoding has been correctly applied.
๐
Check the SERP footer
Scroll to the bottom of the results page. You’ll see the text “Results for [location name]” or “Results for [lat, lng]” with the exact geographic coordinates used.
๐ก Pro tips for accurate results
Follow these best practices to get reliable simulations and truly usable data for your SEO strategies.
๐
Use location-specific queries
For localized results, use territory-specific queries: local businesses (“restaurant”, “dentist”, “hotel”), services (“lawyer”, “plumber”), points of interest. Google ignores localization on generic queries like “what is SEO”.
๐ต๏ธ
Browse in incognito mode
It’s not mandatory, but highly recommended. If you’re logged into Google or have active localization cookies, Google might override the simulated location with your actual location or search history.
๐
Be precise with geocoding
Instead of “Rome”, use “Via del Corso, Rome” or “Colosseum, Rome”. The more specific the data, the more precisely Google will apply localization parameters, especially for commercial queries where proximity is a decisive ranking factor.
โ Frequently asked questions
Do I need to use incognito mode?
It’s not mandatory, but it’s highly recommended. If you’re logged into Google or have active localization cookies, Google might override the simulated location with your actual location or previous search history. Opening the search in an incognito window ensures that only the SERP Checker parameters are taken into account.
Does it work on smartphones and tablets?
Yes, the tool also works on mobile. However, for more reliable and consistent results, it’s recommended to use a desktop device. Mobile devices often have GPS localization active which can interfere with the simulation, while on desktop you have more precise control over search parameters.
Is it legal to use this tool?
Absolutely yes. The SERP Checker uses only public Google parameters (such as gl, hl, uule) and open data from OpenStreetMap for geocoding. It doesn’t perform scraping, doesn’t violate Google’s Terms of Service, and doesn’t collect user data. It’s a legitimate research tool used by thousands of SEO professionals.
Why does Google ignore localization on some queries?
Google applies localization only on queries where geographic proximity is relevant to search intent. Generic informational queries like “what is SEO” or “history of Rome” don’t have a significant local component, so Google returns global results. To test localization, use commercial or service queries (“pizza place”, “dentist”, “hotel”, “lawyer”).
Can I compare SERPs from different cities simultaneously?
The tool opens one search at a time, but you can open multiple browser tabs with different locations and the same query to visually compare results. This is particularly useful for competitive analysis between nearby cities or to verify ranking differences within the same metropolitan area.
